What to include in a campaign report
The proof of delivery and the numbers we need from publishers after a placement runs — and the template that makes it a ten-minute job.
Updated September 2026
After a placement runs, the advertiser sees one combined report from The Ad Mart. Your part of it is short: proof it ran, and the numbers you already have. We ask for it within 5 business days of the placement, and we pay on receipt (see Publisher Terms).
What to send
| Placement | Proof of delivery | Numbers |
|---|---|---|
| Newsletter | Screenshot of the placement in the sent issue, plus a web-view link if one exists | Sends, opens, open rate, clicks on the advertiser’s link |
| Podcast | Episode link and the timestamp of the read | Downloads at 7 days (and 30 days if available) |
| Website placement | Screenshot with the date visible, plus the page URL | Impressions and clicks for the flight |
| Sponsored feature | Live URL and a screenshot of the labelled article | Page views, average time on page, clicks on the outbound link |
| Directory listing | Live URL | Page views if available |
| Social | Post URL and screenshot | Reach, engagements, link clicks |
Send whatever your platform gives you natively — a Mailchimp or Substack report, a podcast host dashboard export, a Google Analytics screenshot. Do not build a spreadsheet unless you want to.
The template
Copy this into an email or a document:
Advertiser: Okafor Law · Campaign: Local Expert · Publisher: The Porch Weekly
Placement: Primary sponsor, Tuesday 14 October 2026 issue Proof: [web view link] · screenshot attached Sends: 6,412 · Opens: 3,077 (48%) · Clicks on advertiser link: 214
Placement: Mid-roll host-read, Episode 86, published 16 October 2026 Proof: [episode link], read at 18:40 Downloads at 7 days: 2,240
Notes: Two listeners emailed to ask for the guide directly; forwarded to the advertiser.
What makes a report useful
- Dates on everything. The advertiser is comparing placements that ran on different days.
- The same metric each time. If you reported opens at 48 hours last month, report opens at 48 hours this month.
- Clicks on the advertiser’s link specifically, not total clicks in the issue.
- One line of observation. “The Tuesday issue had a holiday-week dip” explains a number better than a chart.
- Reader feedback, if any. Replies and questions are the most persuasive evidence a placement worked.
What we do with it
We combine your report with the advertiser’s landing-page data and the other publishers’ figures into one summary: what ran, where, when, what happened and what we recommend next. You will see the section about your placement before it goes to the advertiser if anything in it needs your context.
